Position Description

Overview

 

The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Senior Manager – Manufacturing Operations leads the design of the Corporate audit programs that have universal applicability across all manufacturing facilities. The incumbent determines the content of all Corporate audits and oversees their timely execution. Additionally, the incumbent maintains up-to-date knowledge on emerging practices and trends in the QA regulatory environment and coordinates strategic action plans with all facilities to prepare for regulation adaptation and ongoing compliance.

Position Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates improvements to QA/QC and Food Safety systems in Hain-owned manufacturing facilities, identifying areas of weakness or absence of policies, programs, and procedures that need to be developed and implemented.
  • Develops and/or implements audit schedules/programs in accordance with federal regulations across Corporate QA departments for assigned Hain manufacturers.
  • Provides direction and subject matter expertise on various QA issues to assist internal and external parties with matter of compliance or audit inquiries.  
  • Oversees creation and implementation of corrective action plans associated with resolving non-conforming issues as identified from audit processes.
  • Creates internal reporting metrics/scorecards to determine production efficiency and influence of QA measure to improve product quality.
  • Conduct statistical analyses of food safety and quality data to assess compliance with related programs and determine where improvement is needed.
  • Investigates large scale consumer complaints at owned-manufacturing locations to determine root cause and develops strategies to reduce complaint incidences. 

 

Qualifications

.

  • Minimum seven years’ experience with oversight on QA/QC processes related to food and beverage products or other related capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in food science or other equivalent biological sciences
  • Experience with communication and coordination of various QA manufacturing auditing efforts
  • Highly preferred QA audit certification
  • Preferred GFSI certification and/or SQF practitioner
  • Knowledge of Food GMPs, SOPs, HACCP/Food Safety, and Environmental Guidelines.
  • Work experience with multiple manufacturing categories with food, dietary supplements, and/or personal care products preferred
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements at manufacturing level, specifically organic certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50-60%
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
